Was an absolute mind blowing exhilarating thrill ride. Renee and I had no idea what to expect. We have been to the winery numerous times and for this one day, for their party, the winery looked completely different, unrecognizable. It was a Polynesian/Tiki/Island theme. So, they brought in a waterfall and a beach. There was a "island-y" type band, steel drum players, and the "Rutherford Girls", as they were, were dressed in coconut bras and feathered tutus. Everything was free: Valet parking, coat check, all the amazing food, the drink, everything. Upon entrance everyone was offered grappa. And the Rutherford Girls worked the room all night, pouring 1999 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon from magnums.
No wonder then, when John, the founder of Frog's Leap, got up to speak, he said, "Thank God we only do this every four years." And, "They said you wouldn't come on a Wednesday! You are all Frog's Leap!" Right after his words the drummers and dancers arrived. Video below (hopefully I can figure it out.)
I think it was a perfect moment for me, the whole party, sharing all this with Renee. And it had been a while since I had had one!
Thank you so much, Frog's Leap. I am so chuffed to be considered part of your family. And I love your products and your mission and will continue to whole-heartedly and with great fervor support your fantastic wine.
